PROFILE

Dr Stephen Hardy was for 13 years a law academic, researching into the European, commercial and employment law. As a result he is a respected scholar and author of numerous books and articles in the fields of employment/discrimination and European law.

Following his highly successful academic career, he now comes to the Bar to utilise his vast knowledge base and further his considerable Tribunal experience, especially in terms of dealing with trade union litigation. He has also acted as an independent arbitrator, especially in relation to footballers' pay disputes.

Formerly he has worked at the EU Commission and the European Parliament, as well as special advisor to the UK Government.

PUBLICATIONS

Since 2006, he has been the General Editor of Sweet and Maxwell's Encyclopaedia of Employment Law, as well as Co-Editor of Doing Business in Europe (Thomson). He is a contributing (UK) Editor to Kluwer's International Encyclopedia on Labour Law (GB section). He is also the author of: Pensions and Employment Law, TUPE: Guide to the 2006 Regulations (2nd Ed), Employment Law (3rd Ed) and Employment Laws in Europe (2nd Ed).
