Inquest in to death of Paul McGuigan

Ian Denham has been instructed to represent Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in an inquest concerning the death of Paul McGuigan.

Paul McGuigan died on 8 August 2009 while working as a private security contractor in Iraq. Paul and another contractor were shot and killed by Daniel Fitzsimons, a fellow employee who had been deployed by the security contractor ArmorGroup (now G4S). Fitzsimons was convicted of murder in February 2011 and is currently serving a 20 year sentence in Iraq.

Last week Robert Smith, instructed by the CPS POCA unit, concluded a long running confiscation case, in which the defendant was found to have benefitted from his criminal conduct in the sum of £8 million and was ordered to pay £3.4 million within the next 3 months.
