9 St John Street’s Personal Injury Team Have Been Exceptionally Ranked in the Legal 500 2025

Once again, our Personal Injury Specialists have received recognition in the Legal 500 Directory. With 17 members being ranked for their broad spectrum of expertise. The award 'Top Tier Set' confirms that our members are leaders in their field.

“Catastrophic injuries, claims involving alleged exaggeration or fraud, and chronic pain are all areas of expertise for the personal injury barristers at 9 St John Street. The set is home to Christopher Kennedy KC, who was instructed by the defendant in Bennion v Adventure Parc Snowdonia, a case in which the claimant suffered a catastrophic spinal injury when falling from his surfboard and hitting a reef. Chambers houses a number of notable juniors in this space, including Elizabeth Murray, who acts for both claimants and defendants in a wide range of personal injury cases, with a particular specialism in the Animals Act 1971 and related claims involving equestrians. Julie-Anne Luck has expertise in cases arising from road traffic accidents, while James Hurd is strong in psychiatric injury claims. Joseph Mulderig is sought after for his expertise in fatal accidents and industrial disease claims, and he acted for the claimant in the case of Awan v Younis, in which the claimant, who was stood in the middle of the road at night, sustained life-changing injuries after being struck by a car when waiting to cross. Michael O’Neill handles cases regarding poly-trauma and amputations, Philip De Berry is a key name in the catastrophic injury claims space, and Benjamin Morris specialises in defending in claims involving motor insurance fraud and dishonesty.”

The team’s clerks have been noted for being incredibly supportive.

“The clerk’s room is very helpful. Phillip Spencer is always accommodating and helpful.” “The clerk’s are excellent and very efficient and will do all they can to support you. Tony Morrissey and Joe Gibson are first rate.”
