Matthew Curtis led by David Elias KC secures an attempted murder conviction

On the 18th March 2021, at the Crown Court in Chester, a teenage drug dealer from Manchester was found guilty of trying to kill a man in Cheshire.

Matthew Curtis was instructed by CPS Mersey Cheshire from the outset and provided early advice on the evidence and representation.  As a result, the jury heard from a number of witnesses including drug users, a forensic scientist who dealt with bloodstain pattern analysis, and a forensic pathologist who presented a visual reconstruction of the victim's injuries.  The victim could not be a witness owing to the life-changing injuries he suffered.

At trial Mr Curtis was led by Mr David Elias KC, Leader of the Wales and Chester Circuit.

The Defendant will be sentenced by Mr Justice Butcher next month.

Mr Curtis is presently instructed in the ongoing 'county line' drugs supply conspiracy connected to this investigation.

The CPS press release can be found here.
