Robert Lassey Co-Authors Journal Article for Leading Sports Law Publication LawInSport

Robert Lassey has received notification that a journal article which he recently co-authored on the government's new 'Employment Rights Bill' has been published by the world's leading sports law website, LawInSport.

Created in collaboration with Oliver Hinds of Myerson Solicitors and Andy Boyde of Consilia Legal, the article, entitled 'Impending UK sports employment reforms: zero-hours, maternity, day 1 protections' seeks to explore the likely impact of the government’s recently announced employment law reforms on the UK’s professional sporting landscape. With a particular focus on Labour's high-profile commitments on banning 'exploitative' zero-hour contracts; creating enhanced maternity protections; and introducing 'day one' unfair dismissal rights, the article begins by considering how and when these proposals are likely to be introduced, before going on to assess the possible implications for sports organisations in practice. It concludes by offering some tentative predictions for the future.

For those who are interested, the full article is available to read online now via the LawInSport website. It can also be accessed directly using this link.
