Nine Lives

The Nine Lives Community Fund is the charitable fund maintained by the Chambers of Charles Garside QC, 9 St John Street, Manchester.

9 St John Street Chambers is pleased to announce the launch of its charitable fund - the Nine Lives Community Fund.

The Nine Lives Community Fund is the first dedicated charitable fund to be associated with a set of barristers chambers...

The Fund will benefit nine good causes from the North of England each year from funds given by members of chambers, clerks and staff. Money will also be raised through holding seminars and special events.

The Nine Lives Community Fund is proud to be associated with Forever Manchester the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester, which worked in partnership with chambers to establish the Fund.

Nine Lives helps to ... ... float a community boat

The Nine Lives Community Fund awarded a grant of £3,400 to the East Manchester Community Boat Project based in Portland Basin, Ashton under Lyne.

This project revolves around a 12 seat narrowboat, called Community Spirit, that provides education and fun-based activities for adults and children, from across Greater Manchester, who are disabled or disadvantaged.

On average approximately 850 people enjoy a free day out on the canal boat each year and all visitors are encouraged to participate in the crewing of the boat, with supervision. They are also able to enjoy learning more about local history, the local environment and wildlife and life on the canal.
