Malka is our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Pupil. She is also an Accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator.
Prior to commencing Pupillage at 9 St John Street, Malka completed her First Six at the Employed Bar undertaking a Criminal Pupillage and therefore brings with her the adversarial experience of the criminal courts. Malka made a career change and restarted her training at the Self-Employed Bar with 9 St John Street, specialising in a civil practice.
Malka was already familiar with the civil courts as she had a successful practice as a County Court Advocate representing clients in small claims hearings, including Mortgage Repossession, Debt Recovery, Infant Approval Settlements and MOJ Stage 3 Hearings. She had also spent several years working at Solicitor Firms within the Personal Injury industry accruing experience from both the Defendant and Claimant perspective in a multitude of RTA cases including MIB claims, Motor fraud, and Hire Claims. She is well versed with the pre-action protocols and CPR guidelines relating to personal injury claims.
Malka has expanded on her skills and knowledge during pupillage into Employers Liability claims, Public Liability Claims, and more recently, the GMC. She has an eye for detail and enjoys both written and oral advocacy. She has gained substantial experience of advising on quantum, merits of a claim, evidence and drafting pleadings.
Malka has already been booked for noting briefs in the early stages of her training and continues to work hard towards a long term career at the Bar. She has also actively participated in a number of events for the ICCA and the Inns of Court encouraging and assisting students who are keen to enter the Bar through motivational speeches and online interviews. Malka enjoys aiding those around her and this is noticeable in her practice.
In her spare time, Malka enjoys painting and cooking. She has a creative side to her that she brings out in her work.

Malka's clerks will provide no obligation quotations for all legal services that she provides. It is most common for Malka to undertake Court and Tribunal work for a brief fee plus refresher days, although fixed fees are available. Malka also accepts instructions on legal aid rates where those are available, details of which can be found here. For paperwork, Malka most commonly charges at an hourly rate, although fixed fees are available. Malka will typically return paperwork within 10-14 days, however professional commitments, complexity and volume of documentation can affect these approximate timescales.
