PROFILE

Olivia completed the Bar Professional Training Course at Manchester Metropolitan University and was called to the Bar in July 2021.

Before commencing pupillage, Olivia worked as a criminal defence paralegal where she assisted on cases in both the Crown Court and Magistrates’ Court. This involved all stages of trial preparation and gathering mitigation material for sentence. Olivia worked on a diverse caseload including rape and serious sexual offences, drug offences and murder. Prior to this Olivia worked as a paralegal assisting with the litigation of negligence and human rights claims concerning the physical and sexual abuse of children. Olivia represented appellants in the Criminal Injuries Compensation First-Tier Tribunal concerning appeals against adverse decisions relating to the eligibility of applicants for compensation.

Following the completion of the Bar Professional Training Course, Olivia worked for a personal injury firm as a County Court Advocate. Olivia was instructed on a range of hearings such as; PTRs, interim applications, infant approval hearings and small claim hearings.
