Emma Greenhalgh joined chambers following successful completion of pupillage under the supervision of Rachael Heppenstall. Prior to this Emma initially qualified as a Solicitor during which time she gained a variety of experience in all aspects of Family Law with a leading High Street practice based in the Northwest. Since coming to the Bar Emma has developed her knowledge and gained further experience in public law children proceedings; private law children proceedings; ancillary relief and TOLATA proceedings and Family Law 1996 matters.
Emma also has experience of representing Police Authorities and Local Authorities in disclosure and public interest immunity applications in both the criminal and family jurisdictions.
Emma has experience and knowledge in all areas of family law and is keen to develop a practice covering all aspects of family practice.
Emma prides herself on thorough preparation and a down to earth approach. Emma has the ability to analyse the factual and legal issues concisely and adopts a professional and robust approach to matters. Emma has the ability and understanding to work with vulnerable clients and has been involved in cases involving the Official Solicitor.
In public law children proceedings Emma accepts instructions from a number of Local Authorities, parents, grandparents and children. Emma has recently been instructed as Junior Counsel for a Local Authority in a complex multi issue High Court case involving an adoption placement breakdown.
