Chris is a personal injury specialist. His focus is on higher value claims and fraud. He has considerable experience in all aspects of road traffic, public liability and employment claims. He has long experience of dealing with police personal injury claims.
Chris is an extremely experienced trial advocate and combines his regular court work with a busy paper practice and regular instruction in joint settlement meetings.
He acts for both claimants and defendants, regularly receiving instructions from the major claimant firms and from large insurers.
Recent defence work includes settlement at JSM of a claim against the MOD, unled, for provisional damages totalling in excess of £3m and successfully defending multi-track liability trials dealing with serious injuries caused by an allegedly dangerous dog and the loss of part of the claimant’s hand in an industrial machine. Chris regularly defends road traffic claims on the grounds of fundamental dishonesty.
For claimants, recent cases include successfully prosecuting multi-track trials in respect of an assault perpetrated against carers by a young person in local authority care and successfully representing a police officer in respect of injuries suffered during the course of self-defence training.
