9 St John Street Golf Day

Members of Chambers and Clerks joined 80 solicitors to compete in the annual 9 St John Street Charity Golf Day at Bolton Golf Club.

This years winners were David Mann, Richard Barge, Lee Thomas & Peter Kennedy from Aaron & Partners with James Stables, Darren Lightfoot, Tom Heginbottom & Jake Herman from The GMC coming in at second place. Both teams finished on a gross score of 51 but Aaron & Partners had the better back nine holes.

The Longest Drive winner was John Birtwell of Fieldings Porter.

The Nearest the Pin winner was Daniel Bamber of Keoghs.

After the golf we were joined by James Hampson from Forever Manchester who spoke to our guests about the Chambers Charity, Nine Lives. Following a successful raffle, the total raised for the day came to £2500.

Chambers would like to congratulate all the winners and thank all that attended for their generosity. We hope to see you all in 2020.

James has been appointed Junior Counsel to the Crown - Regional A Panel Appointment for a further five years.

Ms Julie-Anne Luck represented parents at an inquest, in which Coroner concludes that neglect on the part of Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust contributed to the death of their baby

Baby Zachary was born at the Midwifery Led Unit, Walsall on 15 October 2016, having suffered intrapartum hypoxia due to lack of oxygen during labour. He was in a poor condition and not breathing. After initial failed attempts at resuscitation, he was transferred to Manor Hospital Walsall, where some 30 minutes after birth, he was successfully resuscitated. However, by this time he had fixed dilated pupils and a decision was made to end further resuscitation attempts. Zachary passed away on 16 October 2016.
