Paul Gilroy KC advises new England Manager

When Roy Hodgson got the call from Wembley to attend talks with The FA about his potential appointment as England Manager, one of his first calls was to instruct the legal team he had previously worked with to great effect upon both joining and leaving Liverpool FC.

Paul Gilroy KC, of 9 St John Street Chambers, instructed by Paul Daniels of RJW Solicitors, was drafted in on the evening of Monday 30 April and together the legal team worked with Roy Hodgson's agent in the contractual drafting process that enabled The FA to unveil the new Manager at a press conference the next day.

Paul Gilroy's work with Roy Hodgson comes as the latest in a long series of high profile football manager instructions. He advises at both the commencement and termination stages, having recently represented Martin O'Neill in his claim before the Premier League Managers Arbitration Tribunal against Aston Villa, and subsequently negotiating the terms of his contract with Sunderland.
