[The officer was later acquitted of his manslaughter.] On the 23rd August 2012, at the conclusion of the disciplinary hearing, Dr Patel was struck off the Medical Register, the FTP Panel having concluded that Dr Patel's Fitness to Practise was impaired by reason of misconduct and deficient professional performance, this conduct arising out his conduct of the autopsy and the reports which he prepared in respect of his examination of Mr Tomlinson.
