Hours of work:
08:30 - 17:00
Starting salary: £22K – £24k Per Annum dependent on experience
Location: Manchester

9 St John Street is a leading set of barristers based in Manchester compromising of 10 King's Counsel and 100 Juniors. A vacancy has arisen for a Fees Clerk to join the team on a full-time basis.

Experience of fee collection in a barrister’s chambers or legal environment is preferred.

Job Description

  • Responsibility for fee collection for Chambers as part of a team;
  • Discussing and chasing aged debt for the individual Barristers;
  • Liaising with individual Barristers to identify debts which require special attention;
  • Identifying troublesome debt and discussing with Management;
  • Liaising with Solicitors to resolve outstanding debt;
  • Dealing with incoming mail/e-mail relating to fees;
  • Dealing with any fee reductions, processing of cheques and BACS payments, interim payments and success fee reductions.
